Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP on the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she continued to release her music on the web, including her own released single Bound. The song Sweat it part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. In the following year, her music circulated throughout Dreamville. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, she dropped her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed then followed by a short video in September. Then, in November, she released her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then on November 13 two new singles titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019, the music video for this track was launched. The track has garnered more than three million YouTube views in just one week. In December of 2018, she was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
